View Full Version : Book study

I thought it would be cool if we decided to read through and discuss a Christian book together? Maybe doing a chapter a month? (I did a book group at uni and we did a chapter a week, which can actually be quite difficult for everyone to fit in, especially when everyone is doing completely different timetables and different reading speeds).
Have you tried this before?

Does anyone have any suggestions for a book? (maybe if we get a few suggestions we could do a poll and have people vote which one to do?)

I don't know if we've done it on here, but I've done it on other online forums, and it worked out pretty well, as long as people were committed to it :)

I'd be interested in trying. :)

I've never read anything by Beth Moore but I know a lot of people like her a lot, and she has some ebooks available for free right now.

Free ebook? That would make it easy for everyone to get hold of a copy!

I'd also be interested. I can be a sloooow reader at times but if it was a chapter a month then I'm certain I'd keep up. ;)

I'd give it a shot. I hear so much about Beth Moore, but have never read any of her books.

I'd like to! I think we read a fiction book on here together- Wurthering Heights , I think it was. But it will be interesting to read through a Christian book together.

Which book should we pick?

I'd love to do "A Heart Like His" from Snooch's links above. I have a hard copy devotional by Beth Moore on the life of David, not sure if it's the same thing. Anyway, I was planning to start it soon, even if it's a different book, I'm sure I could do my private devotions with that in conjunction with our group discussion.

A long time ago, I co-lead a Bible study through "To Live is Christ" and I'd love to pull out my notes and re-explore that one as well.

Not married to either ideas though, those are just my top two preferences. I like Beth Moore, so I'd be happy to try any of the others or something else entirely. :)

A heart like his ^ sounds like a good one to me too.

I was rushed yesterday when I was clipping the links, but A Heart Like His is a study of the life of David, so I think it's the same book. I've never read Beth Moore before, so I'm good with starting on that one too :)

I've only done one of her video/book bible studies. So it really don't matter to me either.

A Heart Like His sounds like a good idea, shall we go for that one then? I'll start a new thread to make things neater.
